Overview
GVA Sawyer elaborated a marketing conception of a territorial development at a popular ski resort in the North Caucasus – Dombay, Karachay-Cherkessia.
Technical data
On the basis of performed works, the conception of hotel complex construction was elaborated. The hotel complex is designed for 140 rooms and includes a new type of hotel accommodation which is not developed at Russian resorts, i.e. cottages, which are designed for large groups of tourists and which are very popular at European resorts. Besides that the Project infrastructure will include a sports center with a swimming pool and SPA services, mini amusement park with a springboard, a halfpipe and a recreation area, entertainment center and other options for tourists. It will provide a very comfortable stay apart from breathtaking skiing on the slopes of the North Caucasus.
Performed services
During elaboration of the Project conception, specialists from GVA Sawyer analyzed prospects for development of ski resort market in Russia, and prospects for development of tourist and recreational complex Dombay – Arhiz, where the resort is located; specialists also analyzed characteristics of the Project location and a hotel market of the resort.
Performed works show that the ski resort goes through the period of active development now: the expansion of skiing tracks is carried out; a new modern ropeway was opened in 2008; the ski resort is actively promoted by the local administration.
